The village of St Jeannet is perched at the foot of the Baou de St-Jeannet, a dramatic mountain (800m) and popular destination with hikers and rock-climbers alike, which boasts numerous trails and over 160 climbs across all seven levels of difficulty.
In the medieval village of St Jeannet you will find a 17 century parish church, an 11 century chapel, several restaurants and cafés, bakeries, hairdressers, a butcher, a newsagent’s, a jewellery designer, and a post office. There is also a Sunday morning market selling local organic produce.
Close to where our gite is located, there is a supermarket as well as cafés, restaurants, banks and several small shops. St Jeannet also boasts one of the last independent vineyards in the region, the Domaine de Rasse. Vence, just 7km away, is a bustling working town with all amenities and markets, Matisse’s Chapel du Rosaire, and a delightful medieval walled town with restaurants, cafés, shops and one of the smallest cathedrals in France, which dates from the 11 century.
